An apartment doesn’t offer nearly as much space, typically, as a home for the holiday season. This means you’ll be a bit more limited on decorations and what you can do with a get-together. While you might be limited, there are still plenty of things you can do to make the most of your apartment this holiday season.

Smaller Tree

If you plan to put up a Christmas tree, go small. A large or even medium-sized tree can take up quite a bit of room. With a smaller, tabletop tree, you’ll have more room for other decorations.

Light Up Your Balcony

As long as your apartment complex allows it, consider adding a few lights to your balcony. This can give your apartment a nice touch and help you feel like you’re participating in the holiday season.

Swap Out Your Throw Pillows

Holiday pillows are a great way to add a nice, cozy touch without taking up much space. If you already have throw pillows, you can swap out the covers to a holiday theme. It won’t take up any more room than you’re already used to and you’ll have a nice holiday decoration in your apartment.

Wrap Your Wall Art

Another way to add a touch of the holidays without taking up any space is to wrap your wall hangings like Christmas presents. This can give your place a nice holiday feel. You can even use specific wrapping paper to fit the decor just the way you prefer.

Add the Right Smell

The holiday season often has a specific smell of cinnamon, nutmeg, and baking cookies. You don’t have to go crazy to get this smell. A pot of water simmering on the stove with a few cinnamon sticks can do the trick. Just make sure you remember to turn off the stove when you leave.

Add Small Seasonal Touches

Pinecones, snowflakes, evergreen trees, and other small touches can bring everything together without making your space feel cluttered.

Decorate Your Door

Sure, you can put a standard wreath on the outside of your door and swap the welcome mat for a holiday-themed mat, but what about the inside of your door?

There are a few ways you can decorate your door for the holidays. If it’s white, consider turning it into a snowman. If it’s not, consider wrapping it like a present. You can also hang the Christmas cards you receive on it to give your place a nice holiday feel.

Theme Centerpiece

If you have a nice table in your dining room, add a themed centerpiece for the holidays. You can also decorate the chandelier if you have one. This is a great way to spruce up your apartment for the holidays.

There are many great ways to make the most of your apartment during the holiday season. Use these decorating ideas and you’re sure to turn your apartment into a Christmas wonderland to enjoy throughout the season.
